James joined Crossfit Chattahoochee in August of 2017. He currently is a Health and Physical Education teacher for Gwinnett County Public Schools.
Previously, James was the Head Coach of the Olympic-Sports Strength & Conditioning Program for Murray State University in Kentucky. At this small Division I school, he was directly responsible for the training of close to 200 student-athletes; and was fortunate enough to train many All-Conference Players, 6 Conference Championship Teams, and several athletes who have gone on to play in the Major League Baseball, Women’s Professional Soccer and the Elitserien (Swedish Pro-Volleyball).
James played soccer at Georgia Southwestern University where he received his degree in Exercise Science & Wellness. He started lifting weights in high school and fell in love with the physical preparation that went into training for his sport. He’s been in the iron-game ever since.
Along with coaching Crossfit, James also specializes in Sport Performance Training, General Strength & Conditioning, Late-Stage Injury Rehabilitation, Body Composition Training, and Nutritional Management. He currently resides in Duluth with his wife Abbye, and his daughter Eleanor.
