Originally from Colombia, Andres grew up with sports and played Soccer, Volleyball, Track and Field, and Basketball. While pursuing his Engineering degree, Andres stayed active using traditional methods. However, because he felt he wasn’t able to attain the level of fitness he wanted to reach using traditional methods, he added running, obstacle racing, and calisthenics into his regimen. His research into other methods led him to CrossFit.
Since he started coaching as a Crossfit Level 1 trainer in 2013, Andres continues to learn and pursue knowledge. He has attended numerous Certificate Seminars through Crossfit and has a certification as a Kettlebell instructor from Strong First. Andres has been working with People in a class setting, private coaching, as well as designing strength and conditioning programs and accessory programs for individuals. It is this passion for helping people succeed that makes him who he is as a coach. Andres seeks to understand every of his athlete’s strengths and weaknesses and to provide not just the right program but the complete coaching experience to help them succeed.
Apart from coaching, Andres has a degree in Electrical Engineer and is now balancing a career as an Engineering Manager. His inquisitive spirit, analytical mind, and experience solving problems drove him to combine his skills with his passion for fitness and training programming to use Crossfit as an avenue to work with those that want to improve their fitness. Andres believes that learning is a life-long journey that never stops, and he is constantly seeking knowledge and wisdom from mentors and experiences on the field. You can always expect to see Andres coaching with a smile (always!), talking about upcoming competitions, and encouraging others through being an example for new members. You can also expect to see other coaches often use him as their “demo boy” whenever they can since his form and mobility are just stupid-good!
